Leading a national team using BREWYD's methodologies
Insights from a Regional and Sector leader, Technology.
I began using the BREWYD methodologies over a decade ago and continue to use the foundations of the program today, especially as a leader coming into a new business.
In the early days of using the methodologies I was conscious of what I was good at and what I wasn’t, which was encouraged and positively impacted how I coached others. I learned the traits of individuals are fundamentally different and it’s a discovery process to learn and understand your team, just like it would be with a client.
Taking the time to observe people, look at the data and use it appropriately to prioritise the changes that will have the greatest impact, is so important. It’s the consistency and reliability of the process that I come back to in times of great success and challenge.
No matter what is happening in the business, I have a methodology to fall back on – the routine and familiarity of that is super important for me and those I lead. The BREWYD methodology grounds me as a leader, I know what to focus on, why we’re focused on it, how we need to execute and what the measures of success are.
It’s a programmatic execution framework that’s scalable, uncomplicated and allows me to evolve and grow my team over time. Business is uncertain and the BREWYD methodologies build a level of resilience across the team that prepares them for the unpredictable.
